UN peacekeepers guard Congolese farmers working their fields • World South World

Beneath a scorching solar in Democratic Republic of Congo, most of the farmers tending to their fields within the troubled jap area are guarded by United Nations peacekeepers.

The U.N. mission has fallen below rising scrutiny through the years because the jap battle between insurgent teams, self defence forces and different militias has raged.

However on this nook of Djugu territory within the village of Dhendro, farmers are unequivocal of their assist for the U.N. power recognized by the acronym MONUSCO. The farmers, many displaced from their houses by the battle, shelter in camps close to the U.N. bases.
