An unidentified drone flew over the Russian embassy in Stockholm early on Friday, dropping paint on the grounds of the diplomatic compound, Swedish police stated.
No arrests have been made and no suspects recognized, a police spokesperson added.
Investigators will have a look at whether or not the incident was in any means linked to a reported case of vandalism at Sweden’s embassy in Moscow on Thursday, the spokesperson stated.
The Russian embassy and the Russian international ministry didn’t instantly reply to requests for remark.
Following Thursday’s incident in Moscow, Swedish Overseas Minister Maria Malmer Stenergard urged Russia to make sure the safety of Sweden’s diplomatic mission and its employees.
She didn’t touch upon the drone incident in Stockholm.
