Sony Footage has partnered with Studio CHIZU and Nippon TV to co-produce and co-finance “Scarlet,” the brand new animated function from Academy Award-nominated Japanese director Mamoru Hosoda.
The movie will obtain world distribution by means of Sony Footage, with a U.S. theatrical launch deliberate for winter 2025. Toho will deal with Japanese theatrical distribution.
The collaboration marks Sony Footage’ first enterprise with Studio CHIZU, the animation studio co-founded by Hosoda and producer Yuichiro Saito in 2011. The movie’s producing group contains Saito, alongside Toshimi Tanio from Nippon TV and Nozomu Takahashi from Studio CHIZU.
