Kokila, a Penguin Younger Readers imprint that facilities on highlighting marginalized creators, marked its five-year anniversary with a celebration on the Middle for Fiction in Brooklyn, N.Y., on October 10. Writers, illustrators, and publishing professionals gathered for a night of panels that includes Kokila creators, and visitors had been invited to roam the bookstore’s non-public house to get a sneak preview of forthcoming image books and have books signed by YA authors.
