“The View” co-host Sunny Hostin is talking out in opposition to Joe Scarborough and Mika Brzezinski’s determination to fulfill with President-elect Donald Trump forward of his return to the White Home. The “Morning Joe” co-anchors visited Trump and members of his crew at Mar-a-Lago on Friday, Nov. 15. It was the primary time in seven years that Scarborough and Brzezinski met Trump in particular person, with Brzezinski saying that “what we did agree on was to restart communications.”
Hostin reacted to the revelation by telling her “The View” co-hosts: “The underside line is America wants a free press that’s keen to talk fact to energy, proper now greater than ever. And I feel we have now to be very clear-eyed after we take into consideration the President-elect and canopy the President elect. And I don’t suppose you might want to sit down for 90 minutes at Mar-a-Lago and kiss his ring to have the ability to communicate fact and have the ability to cowl a narrative.”
Scarborough and Brzezinski are “opinion journalists” and never essentially reporters, Hostin then admitted earlier than including: “We have now to do not forget that Trump is the man who ushered within the period of pretend information. He’s the man who ushered in different information. He’s the man who attacked three Black feminine journalists. He’s the man that revoked Jim Acosta’s press credentials for asking a query. So I feel this President-elect, I hate to say it, would love nothing greater than to have solely Fox Information cowl him, nothing greater than a state media. And I don’t suppose he could be trusted in the best way that different presidents could be trusted. That is an aberration.”
However not all the “The View” co-hosts agreed with Hostin’s disapproval over Scarborough and Brzezinski’s assembly with Trump. Sara Haines mentioned it was “the proper determination” for the “Morning Joe” anchors to see the President-elect as a result of “they work on MSNBC. I don’t need solely Fox folks going to see them.”
“I’ve heard numerous people on the left coming after Joe and Mika, saying don’t normalize him. Effectively, 75 million-plus American voters normalize Donald Trump by making him president-elect Donald Trump,” Alyssa Farah Griffin mentioned. “And the notion that if a type of resistance who opposes him stayed of their protected bubbles, sat on their arms and complained about him for 4 years, that that may have a much bigger influence than sitting down… That is completely the proper factor. I’d sit down with Donald Trump. I’d interview Donald Trump and I’ll go a step additional. I hope good folks work for him.”
